ecently, due to the infringement of input method of Zheng Code and other relevant IP rights owned by China-E font of Beijing China-E China-S Electronics Company (hereafter referred to as “Zhong Yi”  for short), Zhong Yi brought a case to the court against Microsoft Corporation and Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd . Beijing 1^st Intermediate Court has accepted the case, and will be in session on November, 15, 2007.

Zhong Yi is a Chinese software enterprise and mainly engaged in research and development of Chinese information processing and application platform system. Zhong Yi claimed in the indictment that since1998, Windows98/2000 and Windows XP developed by Microsoft has installed input method of Zheng Code and China-E font and other products. However, Microsoft has not paid any license fees for its commercial use of input method of Zheng Code. Therefore, Zhong Yi believes that the conduct of Microsoft has seriously infringed its intellectual property right, and brought a case to the court.

It is said that after receipt of the indictment, Microsoft (China) submitted a request with the State Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) to invalidate the patent of Zheng Code due to lack of novelty and creativity.  Microsoft (China) requested the court to suspend the litigation procedure meanwhile.
